Student Calling Script

Follow these two steps during kickoff. Phone calls first, then texts and emails.

Connect campaigns: printing is not required — the script is built into each student's BackStage.

Fill in before printing

Fill in the fields below to personalize the script, then print. The values will appear on the printed page so your student can read directly from it.

Step 1: Make Phone Calls

Go to your BackStage and call each contact. Make all your phone calls before going to Step 2.

When they answer the phone

Hi, this is . I am in the . We are raising money for an amazing season. I have a goal to raise — can I count on your support to help me reach my goal?

If they WILL donate

You say:

Great! We accept credit cards, cash, and checks. I'll text you a link to make your donation. How much would you like to pledge to help me reach my goal?

Then you do:

  • 1 Click the "Send SMS" button next to the contact's phone number in BackStage
  • 2 If you didn't enter contacts, press the larger "Send SMS" button, enter the phone number, and press send
  • 3 Tell one of the volunteers how much they pledged

If they DO NOT want to donate

Okay! I appreciate your time. Have a great day!

No pressure — move on to the next contact.

If you get voicemail or no answer

Leave this voicemail:

Hi, this is . I am in the . We are raising money for an amazing season. I am going to text you a link for our fundraiser — it would be great if you could help us reach our goal. Thank you!

Then you do:

Click the "Send SMS" button next to the contact's phone number in BackStage to send your fundraiser link.

Step 2: Send Texts & Emails

After you've made all your phone calls, send your link to remaining contacts.

Go to your BackStage

BackStage will only work if you created your fundraiser.

Press "Send SMS" or "Send Email" for each contact

This sends your personal fundraiser link directly to them.

Repeat for each contact

The more contacts you reach, the more donations you'll get.

Pro tip

Phone Calls > Texts > Emails

Calls get way better results. Start with the people closest to you — they're the easiest to call and most likely to give.
