Seeing RF* on your card statement?

That charge is a donation to a school music or fine arts program, made through RapidFundraising. Most often, someone in your household gave to a student's fundraiser from a texted link.

Look up the charge

Enter the amount and date from your statement, plus either the last four digits of the card or the email address the donation was made with. We show the program it went to, nothing personal.

Why the statement says RF*

Card statements allow only 22 characters. Donations through RapidFundraising show as RF* followed by the name of the program, for example RF* PEARLAND BAND. Older charges show as RAPID* or RAPIDFUNDRAISING LLC.

RapidFundraising processes the payment and passes the donation to the school program. The receipt went to the email address entered at the time of the donation.

Before you call your bank

  1. Ask anyone who shares the card. A parent, spouse or grandparent giving to a student's fundraiser is the usual answer.
  2. Look it up above. The amount, the date and the card's last four digits tell you which program it went to.
  3. Still unsure? Email support@rapidfundraising.com. A real person answers, usually the same day.

Reporting a charge as fraud to your bank starts a dispute that costs the school program the donation and a fee, even when the donation was real. A quick email to us sorts out almost every case.
