About Us

Harper Creek Middle School Band teaches 210 sixth-, seventh- and eighth-graders, most of whom picked up an instrument for the first time in our beginner class. By eighth grade they are playing at UIL Concert and Sight-Reading and feeding the high-school program down the road.

Most of our students play school-owned instruments. Keeping those instruments working is the single biggest cost we have.

Why We're Raising Funds

We are raising funds to pay for a backlog of instrument repairs: pads, corks, dents and valves on horns that have been passed from student to student for a decade. A working instrument is the difference between a student who stays in band and one who quits in October.

What is left over buys music stands, a few new method books and a metronome for every rehearsal room.
